Game Review: Mirror's Edge

I can't write remember if I did a review on Mirror's edge yet, but now that I tag everything, I'll remember that I did...

Mirror's Edge is not your everyday First Person Shooter. And I say that with a strong back up. Mirror's Edge is more like a running game in the eyes of the runner...which practically is...I can only imagine why it's developer, DICE, made it in FPS is because those games are so over-populated nowadays. You are playing the game without a gun most of the time..so it's more of a "First Person" game than "First Person Shooter."

In this game you are Faith, a Runner. Similar to a Free-Runner. They are like running mailmen and women on building that are being chased by "dogs," the cops (get it?) They send the packages over the rooftops to their destination, while trying to dodge corrupt police. As for Faith, she has a sister who is a cop, so it's a bit difficult for her...

From running, to sliding, to bar-vaulting, there's a ton of things you need to do while you get to your destination. Climbing, disarm cops, wall-running, swinging, and yes, you can shoot a gun..there's a ton of stuff..

ME's graphics are gorgeous. They're almost at Crysis' level (almost,) in it own category, but not quite. Since Crysis rules in landscape, ME rules in area and character build. I constantly play this game over and over just to remember how the game played out or if there was anything else I could do in that game I wasn't able to do. ME has it's own theme song. A really good one that has tons of remixes too. Something that games should all have..

Overall, Mirror's Edge is unique. It's already been confirmed that Mirror's Edge 2 is in the works as well, so I expect some new runner-tricks to be in there as well. But for this game to have a sequel, it means something. So I give it a 4.8 out of 5.
