Review: CosmicBreak Online

When the MMO company, CyberStep recently temporarily shutdown GetAmped2 to prepare for it's Open Beta, they opened CosmicBreak. A Japanese third-person shooter MMO (I say Japanese cuz most MMOs are from Korea.)

CosmicBreak doesn't have the best graphics, that's forsure. But what it lacks in graphics, it gains in superior gameplay, features, and anime voice actors. You start out by choosing either a CrimRose (aerial type,) Lily Rain (artillery type,) or a Jikan Hu (land type.) And like almost all MMOs, you can level up and gain exp as well as fight monsters in certain areas and do missions.

One feature they really emphasized well is the robot customization. You are able to take apart a robot (or build one from scratch,) and build one up your self from the parts you own. You can even paint each part making it look more unique than most.

The game is divided into 3 factions, DOS, WIZ, and BRD, all owned by a guardian which has an anime VA voiced by them. Supposed they aren't "warring factions," but they are fighting fighter "for good reasons" lol...

Anyways it's a good game, it you don't mind the graphics and just wanna beat the crap out of someone, or just like a game that's a cross between Exteel and Bots, then this is it. I give it a 4.5 out of 5.

...and yes the moeness in here with the mechgirls spun my head.

CosmicBreak is a unique, fun, and simple MMO. CyberStep has developed a great game that I admit, has the most potential out of the 70+ MMOs I've played out there, and that includes FPS, RPG, and RTS games. Whenever I found a fun game, the good memories of me playing CB always replayed in my head... but when I remember something good, I also do the same for the bad. The game itself, is solid for a heavily PvP-based MMO, although its PvE-side was rather shallow, that was not a problem compared to what CyberStep has done to this Free-to-Play game. I advise no one to play this game, CyberStep ruined (and continue to destroy) their once potentially perfect MMO.

Once again, I advise no one, who wants to have a fair, fun team-based PvP experience to play this. Veteran players waste hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to get an advantage--an unfair advantage at winning. You can play this with the free content, but you can't play it your way. This game should be labeled as Pay-to-Win than anything, an EXPENSIVE P2W game at that. There is almost no such thing called skill in this game, so unlike an FPS where you can still easily win, it is about how you build a bot and if it was from the Garapon (capsule machine that requires real money).

If you want to waste money to have an advantage, and easily win against other players for a couple months, go ahead and play this game. It's miserable if you don't have friends to play with as a heavy-spender can go alone against a team and come out on top because the character (bot/mech) they have is superior. CyberStep will cater to those who waste thousands on them, if you don't believe me, then play and look at what kind of player(s) usually win in this game. Especially in tournaments. The skilled? No, the wealthy (in terms of money spent).

This game is fun, but is not worth it since the main aspect of the game is PvP. If PvP does not factor in a simple word called: balance, then you should not even bother registering. This comes from someone who fell into the darkside, I used to be a completely free user, and tried spending money just to keep doing well and to prove my point that I was right all along... I regret spending money on this game, and I hope everyone else who has feels the same and stops. I have, I quit, and now know that CyberStep is (or should) be ridiculed for their marketing techniques, as I find them as bad, if not worse than the infamous Nexon.
