-Dean Eshom News Editor/Reviews Editor San Francisco Bay Area's anime and video game convention Animation on Display (AOD) has surprisingly announced that the creative minds behind Hatoful Boyfriend, Hato Moa and Damurushi, will be making their North America debut during the weekend event. In a joint statement, they both voiced their desire to visit the United States, saying, "We are so excited as this will be the first time for us visiting the U.S., meeting fans at a con, and watching U.S. wild birds. We are looking forward to meeting everyone at AOD!" The Hatoful Boyfriend visual novel/dating sim began as a unique independent game project but has migrated onto Steam and the Playstation Vita due to its eccentric nature and writing. In the game, you attend a school for pigeons, roaming the halls and participating in classes attempting to find love in one of the seven potential pigeon mates. It's Angry Birds with an Ouran High School Host Club aesthetic. A Q&A panel will be held for Hatoful Boyfriend on Saturday, February 13th, while an appropriate event on Sunday will take place regarding Hato Moa's tales and experiences as a doujinshi artist at Comiket. About AOD: Founded in 2003, Animation on Display is a Bay Area haven for those sharing interests in Japanese anime, video games, manga, and the like. This year's AOD takes place at the Santa Clara Convention Center February 13th and 14th, and has a fantastic lineup of guests from both America and Japan, video game tournaments, vendors and artists exhibit, musical performances, and, of course, cosplay.
