During the Iplaywinner's Fray podcast, Joey, "Mr. Wizard", Cuellar announced the line up for this year's line up of fighting games for the biggest fighting game tournament in the world. Here are the following games that have been announced to be showcased on the main stage at EVO: Also during the podcast, Mr. Wizard made the announcement that EVO will showcase Street Fighter 2: Super Turbo this year with the Tournament of legends and for the first time hosting Xmania. Xmania is japan's biggest Street Fighter 2: Super Turbo tournament, and just as big as EVO, so EVO will host the biggest Street Fighter 2: Super Turbo tournament. The other announcement that was made was that last year's game, Super Smash Bros. Melee, does have a spot in the line up for EVO. The game is in limbo right now as the EVO staff are in talks with Nintendo to let EVO stream Super Smash Bros. Melee. Last year Nintendo blocked for the stream at EVO for Super Smash Bros. Melee to be shown, due to copyright decisions, and legal issues. Nintendo has been very protective of their IP recently with pulling any content that was not approved by Nintendo, and or was not hosted on Nintnedo's youtube channel.
EVO will be hosted at the LVH Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from July 11-13 in 2014, and booking for the hotel will go live with discounted prices now. Most of the games will be played on Xbox 360's, with the exception of Blazeblue only being played on PS3, and will be streamed on Twitch. -Anthony Beanes Source: http://www.twitch.tv/iplaywinner
