-Kaz Convention Reporter I have to say, the guys at GameStop really outdid themselves on Monday night. While I showed up much later than I wished, I was still able to catch a glimpse of everything that went on in the store. To pass time from 5-12:30, Batman movies were marathonned and aired back to back to back airing some films from the Batman movie collection and the Dark Knight. To get better in tune with the whole Batman theme, and whether it was Brent's tailor-made Joker outfit to Alysia's Harley costume or Adam's Riddler outfit, there were some impressive pieces of attire there. To pass time, the gang assembled a challenge to those waiting for the main event; through the Riddler's store challenge. In this event, the customers were prompted with a riddle and were sent to find the corresponding game title that matched with what the riddle presented. While some were fairly straightforward such as "Press Z or R twice!" there were others which were more convoluted like the riddle "How did the fall of Apophis make you feel?" Many of which seem so obvious after the event, but nonetheless, it was all in good fun. Those who happened to clear through the challenge in a timely fashion ended up winning prizes of pricey Batman collectibles. ![]() The crowd drawn was fairly large, roughly around the same amount of people there as the Gears release a couple weeks back. For those who were able to get there before 10 PM, they found themselves lucky with a bit of an early start on the Riddler challenge which I could've completed, had I not been working as late as I was. (I did get about 2/3rds done, so thankfully it wasn't all a loss.) Had there been a larger crowd, the store could've seen a few more costumed consumers, but in all fairness, the event as a whole was a lot of fun. ![]() All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and thought the event was probably the most fun I've ever had at a GameStop and I'm really looking forward to seeing what the store has to offer in next week's release of Battlefield 3 and Dragon Ball: Ultimate Tenkaichi. While the location in the Roseville Galleria didn't offer the release, they are looking at trying to get one set up for next week's Battlefield 3 release as well as a release for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, much like other solitary store locations such as the one I've been frequenting. Of these locations, all I've heard was that there are plans to get a tournament set up in store at the Greenback and Garfield location, although nothing is definitively set in stone at the moment. Be sure to check em out and above all, enjoy your purchases.
